Anna-Selina
Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) Federation University
My study journey has been shaped by the support and the community I found at the Country University Centre Southern Downs (CUC). After three years of remote study, feeling the isolation and juggling additional responsibilities as a mature-aged student, the CUC provided a space where I could connect, focus, and feel supported. The team’s encouragement and practical guidance made a real difference throughout my Honours year.
What stood out most was the sense of community. Each day brought opportunities to meet fellow students from a range of courses, share experiences, and give and receive the pep talks that kept me motivated. Alongside my studies, I continued serving as a Student Senate Member at Federation University, representing the Institute of Health & Wellbeing, which added another rewarding layer to my university experience and strengthened my connection to the student community.
With the CUC team’s support, I thrived academically, being recognised as one of the top 15% of high-performing students at Federation University and receiving an invitation to join the Golden Key International Honours Society. Looking ahead, I am applying for a Master’s in Clinical Psychology, with the goal of living and working in the Southern Downs. Through my own experiences of study-related stress and balancing work-life commitments, I am passionate about supporting regional and remote communities. I also wants to raise awareness of wellbeing at work and help increase access to psychological services to prevent burnout and other challenges arising in work environments.
